Kelly's Couch Nap

It's a Saturday afternoon, and Kelly is taking this opportunity to nap on our couch...this way, she won't sleep all day (or so she says) and will still wake up at some point. I'm not so convinced, but I do love how she's managed to perch her glasses on the back of the couch.

I'll Not Be Defeated!

Kelly "contemplates her enemy" as she says. It's only one little french fry, but she's giving it one evil glare.

Like the Hipsters Do

Recently I have been educating myself about the Palestine scarf which in the last few years has been appearing as a fashion accessory on the Hipster scene. It's caused some controversy because the original red and white, as well as black and white patterns of the scarf have been used as political symbols and by terrorists in the Middle East. Some people in the U.S. also wear it as a way to protest the Israeli occupation of certain areas of Palestine. Above, Kelly models how to arrange the scarf so as to sport it in the way the Hipsters do: fold into a triangle shape and then wrap around your neck, with the tip of the triangle pointing down in front of you. If you're truly of the Hipster persuasion you'll pair it with a too tight fedora and skinny jeans.

Being the serious, politically conscious kid that I am, I purchased this green and black combo in order to fit in better at progressive indie rock shows. Don't judge.

Cookie Bits

Movie night! Kelly, Mary, and I curled up with more Ben and Jerry's and the first installment of BBC's Pride and Prejudice, which we screened on my old-school Dell Laptop (the poor thing is getting old and temperamental, but it showed P&P just fine). Here Kelly is explaining to me that she bypasses the actual ice cream and goes straight for the, er, cookie bits.
