Oregon Pix: Hood River

Windsurfing town extraordinaire, locale of my mom and step-dad's former restaurant The Celestial Bean. This town really looks like one of those backlots they use in Hollywood for little western towns- we're talking one stoplight town with little boutiques and a two screen movie theater. The local hotel was old and haunted and all the locals seemed to be into outdoor extreme sports.

Oregon Pix: Multnomah Falls 2

The bottom of the waterfall- it washes out into a stream that apparently floods the whole area when the rain is heavy.

Oregon Pix: Multnomah Falls

One of the coolest things I saw while in Oregon over Memorial Day weekend was this natural waterfall.

Oregon Pix: The Union Pacific

The Union Pacific: one very old railway that's still standing and (apparently) still functional.

Let's Get this Party Started

And what better way to say "I'll try this photo blog one-more-time" than with delicious, home-made chocolate chip cookies? Although I'm a big fan of engaging in culinary disasters, I actually managed to make these without forgetting something important, like the eggs, and without burning them. So welcome back, cheers!

Rainy Season

Sometimes it rains, and sometimes it pours. It's been raining alot around here lately, and last week it did pour. Here's a picture of a parking lot monsoon that I witnessed while it rained and thundered at a movie theater.

The Loneliest Manhole

It's a little ironic that that's the only thing that was plowed.

I Can't Believe I Used to Miss This

It's definitely the winter, and it's definitely snowing out.

Now You See Me, Now You Don't

My camera does a really good "disappearing hand" act. Danny demonstrates.

Just Another Skyway

A walkway over a bridge in Milwaukee. Cuz it's cold here. And not everyone can walk on water.

Default Artsy Picture

More experimentation with the premade settings on my new fancy camera. This one picks up colors you pre-set and only those colors. So now Dan's living in black-and-white.

Warning Labels for Idiots

"Well dear, I bought that storage container to put the Christmas decorations in, but now I think I'll just store little Timmy in there instead."

Well, it was a Christmas Tree

A little fun with the new camera. It makes my Walgreen's artificial Christmas tree look psychadelic.

Well...what do you expect? It's winter in Wisconsin.

It only looks like this 7 months out of the year around here. I'm kidding. Mostly.

The Changing of the Guard

A new year, a new camera! It's time for me to stop ignoring the blog, and since Santa brought me a camera I think it's time to jump back on the picture-taking bandwagon.
