Colored for a Cure

The Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure (for breast cancer) is tomorrow. The Art Museum is all lit up in celebration of the race, which starts right in front of the art museum, as well as the museum's new Andy Warhol exhibit.

Brunch at Bayou

My roommate and I went to have brunch today at Bayou, which is a fantastically delicious place to grab brunch near North Ave and the east side/riverwest. I had a salmon omelet with a weird but satisfying combination of salmon, tomato, cream cheese and egg topped with mango chutney and with a side of potatoes done just the way I like them.

German Style

Let's just say there was a Germany-themed party that I missed, but I still got a consolation present: the wind-up Lederhosen (kind of awesome, right?)

Slightly Inappropriate Ice Cubes

While at TJ Maxx last night, I discovered that nothing says "it's a party now!" like 1,500 people perishing in the Atlantic.

A note on my vacation pics

So after trying out the wifi camera memory card, I realized that using it presents a few interesting hiccups (i.e. I wasn't in wifi range most of the time I was away, my apartment wifi is too slow to support downloading, Flickr only lets me download so many a month, etc).

After a delay in uploading, I finally got the card to download about half of them to my Google albums:

Check out the vacation pics here

The ones uploaded so far are most of the ones from the first stretch of the trip, more pics from Palo Alto and Yosemite to come tomorrow, hopefully.

A little note...

I'm going on the road (and I guess, taking to the skies)--Starting tomorrow, I'll be off having adventures of the West Coast kind for a week or two. Thanks to a nifty bit of technology, I'll be uploading photos to my Flickr account wirelessly while I'm gone.

You can see my pictures here: My photos on Flickr

See you all in mid-September!
