Into the Sunset

Here it is, kids...the end of the line. As I leave you to your adventures, and me to mine, I just want to say thanks for coming along for the ride with me. For my last parting thoughts, here are a few good pictures that I took a long time ago, and felt like sharing.

Loving Parents, of the Mom and Step-Dad Variety

So until next time, remember: enjoy the little things, and always carry a camera with you, because you never know what you're going to see (or do, or eat....).

The Best of the Blog

Where to start? So many good posts, so little time to recap. It was hard to choose, but here are my favorites...some for the pictures and some for the stories behind them...of what I've already posted on the blog. Each title links to the original post.

5) A Birthday Invasion (This one goes out to the late, great Grandma Alma)
6) Fountain Play
7) Girl
8) Late to the Party
9) Family Round Up: Part 4
10) Cherry Tree Time of Year

The Runners Up:
Halloween - The Morning After

Let's Put the Cat in Things: A Before and After
Let's Put the Cat in Things: A Reprise
Let's Put the Cat in Things: A Reprise, Part 2

Nostalgia

I'm at Mama D's house in Kansas City, cleaning out old boxes of stuff that's been accumulating for more than ten years. Here's the most amusing stuff I've found so far: my 8th grade basketball picture, a New Found Glory sweatshirt (no comment), a greeting card I meant to give someone in 2006, and an old copy of my high school newspaper, the Thomas More Utopian (aptly named?).

Silence on the air waves

I thought maybe I should post a little note letting you all know that I've been neglecting the blog lately because I've had a weird flu-like bug since Saturday. So in my quest to sleep, lounge in pajamas on my couch and eat saltine crackers, I haven't had much time to be out taking pictures. I'll be back later this week.

Until then, here are some other photoblogs that I dig because they focus on daily photos from other cities:

Self Portrait 2- Rainy Days and Mondays

This is me in my window's reflection and outside is the courtyard my apartment faces, as well as the rain coming down outside. A classy addition to this photo: the top of my Febreze bottle. Because classy is just my style.

Awkward NYU Party

A special presentation....bringing you the awkward dynamics of an NYU dorm party. This is narrated by the lovely Mary McCarty and features many of this blog's dearest friends like Cristina Popek and Christina Carey. It's also pretty typical of what Mary and I have regularly seen at these dorm soirees, regardless of the company invited. Must be an NYU thing...maybe we should have gone to state school. Anyways, enjoy.

2 for Today, with David Hyde Pierce

Went to see the musical Curtains last night (Friday night) with Christina Carey. This is me before the show with the poster of David Hyde Pierce, who plays a Boston detective called to the scene of a homicide that also happens to be the scene of a troubled theater production--gotta love a show within a show. And this is me with David Hyde Pierce and one of the play's female leads, Karen Ziemba, after the show. It was raining but they still took time to sign everyone's playbill. Amazing! I was tempted to tell him this role of his was almost as funny as his role in A Bug's Life, but I didn't want to be demeaning. Or have David Hyde Pierce kick my ass. He looks much to nice to do that. Also, he's totally wearing an NYPD cap and a Yale Med School sweatshirt....interesting!

Ok, now I know these pictures weren't taken by me and technically break the rules I set for myself...but cut me a break, I'd forgotten to take my camera along with me today(Friday), and thusly hadn't taken any pictures.

Self Portrait

So I was goofing around with my camera while Cristina was over last night and I decided to use one of the twilight settings....and lo and behold, Cristina and I in warm red and yellow tones.

Midterms

In the spirit of procrastination and photo essays, today I present what I was actually doing while I should have been writing my honors thesis project:

Shopped with Cristina,

And watched her get stuck in a shirt,

Bought some snacks and a new comic book,

Had an aperitif to calm my nerves (and polished off that bag of chocolate chips),

Surfed YouTube for 2 hours,

And am still here, stressed out, because nothing's done.
