ASPCA Party

So ASPCA decided to throw an awareness party thing in Union Square Park today, and in trying to get people to stick around and learn about whatever it is the ASPCA actually does, they were giving out free chalk and drinks, etc. Even the local news showed up (note the truck in the background). Cristina and I were on our way to Macy's but took a moment to admire the artistic handiwork.

ASPCA-American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals -was founded in 1866 as the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. The Society was formed to alleviate the injustices animals faced then, and they continue to battle cruelty today. Whether it’s saving a pet who has been accidentally poisoned, fighting to pass humane laws, rescuing animals from abuse or sharing resources with shelters across the country, they work to help animals; April 10th-today was their big awareness and fundraising day called paint the town orange- thus the art and orange shirts
